Chapel services for New Manna Christian School students and faculty are held every Wednesday for all age groups. There are two separate services; one for the K3 through 5th grades at 9:30 a.m. and the other at 11:00 a.m. for the 6th through 12th grades. Students normally have chapel in the auditorium of New Manna Baptist Church unless other circumstances dictate that they be held in several other possible locations on campus.
Each chapel service is indeed a church service with singing, interaction, and preaching. All opportunities for students to participate in the services are encouraged whether it be to sing, give a personal testimony, or for young men to preach if called to do so. We also enjoy having fun with the students; lively activities and skits are always a possibility. God made laughter and he intends for us to enjoy our salvation within the bounds of Godliness. Yes, Christians CAN have fun!
There is also a seriousness to serving the Lord so when it comes to preaching, we reinforce the importance of living for Him and having a balanced life. We are in this world, but not of this world so we strive to combine Godly character within our daily living. One method of providing examples is by having different Pastors and preachers from our area take part in our chapel services. Not only do the students get to hear different men of God and learn of our heritage in the Lord, but these men are also encouraged to see groups of young people learning about Him and living for the Lord. In many instances, we have had students give their lives to full-time service for Him. In fact, some have graduated college and teach at NMCS.
